I Want to be Ready for the Tough Mudder

Goal for 2016: Complete 20 perfect form pullups

As someone who has completed 2 Tough Mudder events I’ll tell you… work on doing more pullups. Body weight exercises like this truly show you how much of a man (or a pussy) depending on who you are. Me? Things are not good in “Daneville.”

Unparalleled for building grip, upper-body, and core strength, the pullup is the exercise to master.

How?

How will I meet this goal? Solid question… I’ve got a 3 point approach to reaching 20:

  • DO PULLUPS – Do lots of pullups. I think I heard someplace that hard work is key
  • Lose Weight – Lifting less weigh would make this easier
  • Vary Grip – Change my hand positions constantly. Some days wide, some narrow and some in between, but doing them and changing all the time.
